What is Amlodipine used for?

Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chest pain (angina). Helps relax blood vessels so the heart doesn't have to work as hard.

How does it work?

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. It prevents calcium from entering the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessels, causing them to relax and widen.
