What is Atorvastatin used for?

Used to lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, and raise good cholesterol (HDL). Reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes in people at risk.

How does it work?

Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase that the liver uses to make cholesterol, reducing overall cholesterol production.
